Blueprints
Upon discovering the power of colour theory in earlier projects, Charsley set herself the challenge of continuing to work in monochrome, but this time in the complete opposite colour. After attending a workshop on the printing process of cyanotype, she set about making dozens of prints that responded to themes of healing, religious liberation and identity, through everyday practices and objects. While there are no cinematographic elements to this series, pieces such as Sabbath and Rebirth relied heavily on the role of performance as part of the creative process.
